Working with difficult people can be a distressing experience.

Difficult people :-
Arrow Increased absenteeism
Arrow Decreased motivation
Arrow Decreased productivity
Arrow Creates dissension in the work team

WHAT TO DO?
1. Develop constructive confrontation skill
Arrow Learn how to relax
Arrow Identify the source of the problem
Arrow Assess the effects upon you and your work
:arrow; Plan your approach – your words and your behavior
Arrow Anticipate the other person’s responses
Arrow Choose carefully the time and place for your approach
Arrow Following the discussion, review your performance
Arrow Consult a counselor or a psychologist for assistance if difficulties continues with the problem person.

2. Enhance problem solving
Arrow Treat the other person with respect
Arrow Arrange an appropriate time to discuss the problem
Arrow Prepare thoroughly for the meeting
Arrow Be positive during the discussion
Arrow Follow up the decision from the meeting.

3. Increasing your own likeability….only then you can influence change.
Arrow Be pleasant
Arrow Be interested in others
Arrow Be thoughtful
Arrow Be generous
Arrow Be open about yourself
:arrow:Be willing to spend time with others
:arrow:Be willing to read resource books
:arrow:Be prepare to study more about communication

4. Pray
Arrow Never underestimate the power of prayer ….if you really wish for the difficult person to change always pray for the person and that person knows about it.

5.Get help
Arrow Refers the difficult person to a counselor or psychologist with or outside your organization
